The Opportunity:  Finance and Project Manager

This is a unique opportunity for a Manager to help build an organization’s project management and operational capacity as the Foundation grows its partnership and program growth efforts.  The Manager will be responsible for overseeing the Foundation’s ongoing financial day to day operations as related to Farm Foundation projects, as well as providing operational and timeline management for current and new Farm Foundation projects as they emerge.
Currently, an outside professional provides regular financial reporting and services related to preparation for the annual audit.  This function is expected to transition in-house within the next 2 years; offering the Manager the opportunity to grow in responsibility.
Farm Foundation has recently invested additional resources in growing its capacity for partnerships and funded projects. To this end, the new position of Finance and Project Manager was established in order to address the internal operations of projects while the President and Vice Presidents will take a more external role in establishing new project partnerships and securing the related funding.

The Foundation’s restricted funds for partnership funded programs are currently approximately $800,000.  In the next several years, the organization is on track to grow this to $2,000,000.
Currently, the largest Farm Foundation project is Soil Renaissance.  Farm Foundation, NFP and the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation initiated the Soil Renaissance to advance soil health and make soil health the cornerstone of land use management decisions. The Soil Renaissance focuses on the role of soil health in vibrant, profitable and sustainable natural resource systems, as well as the critical importance of soil and soil health in meeting the challenge of feeding 9 billion people by 2050.  For more information, please visit http://soilrenaissance.org/about-soil-renaissance/.
